Emailing Photos - a tip
Most digital cameras (e.g 4 Mpix) take photos about 1Mb in file size. This is great for sending to the printers of viewing on your PC, but too large to email. Emailing large photos can cause all sorts of problems at the recipients end. The recipients mailbox can overflow, if they have dialup, it may take a long time to download and so on. In short you won't be popular if you email large file attachments. The solution is to 'shrink' the photo first. You can do this in a graphics handling program like 'Paint Shop Pro', but this requires you have a graphics handling program, you know how to use it and you can calculate the correct 'shrink' factor to get a photo that looks good and is small enough to email. (You should be aiming for a file size of no bigger than 70 Kbyte.) If you have windows XP there is a very easy solution. Open the folder where your photos are stored. Right click on the photo you want to send Choose 'Send To' and then 'Mail Recipeint' XP will then give you the option to shrink the photo down. A blank email will be created with the 'shrunk' photo attached. Easy As !!!! Remember, I have cameras, cables, printers, CD writers, and just about anything else you require for digital photography. |
