OK it is great to be able to take lots of digital photos, view them, print them, email them and so on.

BUT

Photos should be forever. They are probably living on your hard drive, and your hard drive is not forever.

SO

Backing up and archiving your photos is good insurance that you will not loose them.

You should backup your photos to Flash Pen Drive regularly. When the pen drive is full then burn all your photos to a CD, empty your flash drive and start again. Store the CD away in a safe place.

Of course you can leave all your photos on you hard drive as well for easy viewing, but there should always be a copy of your photos on either CD or the backup pen drive.
